Q.  When can I visit my loved one?
A.
“Treat it like your loved one’s home.” Join your loved one for a meal (guests are always free)

Q.  Is the staff specially trained?
A.
Each of our employees must pass a criminal background check and be cleared by the Department of Social Services and the FBI.

Once they have a physical and TB clearance, the staff must receive 40 hours of initial training and 20 hours each year on dementia and care issues.

Q.  What is the process of moving my loved one in?
A.
As your loved one “ages in place," we are able to bring skilled medical professionals to the facility through our local home health agencies.  We also have two separate homes so if the decline is specifically in memory loss, your loved one can simply move across the walkway to our sister home, The Commons. Once you have decided you want your loved one to be a member of the Country Village family, our Resident Care Coordinator will do an evaluation to determine if we can provide the necessary care needed and if the move would be a good fit for all parties.

As a Licensed Care Facility, the State requires a considerable amount of documentation, the most important being a cleared TB test, a negative Covid test, and a Physician’s Report.  We will guide you in completing the required paperwork.

Q.  How many rooms and residents can you have?
A.
We are licensed for 20 residents at the Country House and 16 at the Country Commons. In total, we have 17 rooms for residents at the House and one additional room reserved for respite stays and 12 rooms for residents at the Commons.

Q.  Why don’t you have a nurse on-site?
A.
Assisted living is considered a social model rather than a medical model such as a skilled nursing facility or a rehab hospital.  State Licensing also limits what nurses are allowed to do in assisted living—(residential care for the elderly). Most medical needs can be met through a licensed home health agency who has nurses who will come to us.

Q.  My loved one wanders. Will he/she be safe?
A.
Yes, your loved one is safe because our homes are fully fenced and secured.  The staff always know when someone is outside enjoying the beautiful gardens.

Q.  Can you accommodate special diets?
A.
Yes, our dietary staff has experience in providing for special diets.
